US President Barack Obama on Wednesday night (local time) slammed Donald Trump for fear-mongering and said that there's never been a more qualified person, ever, than Hillary Clinton to be President of the US.
"There has never been a man or woman, not me, not Bill (Clinton), more qualified than Hillary to serve as US President," Obama said at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
"Trump is not offering any solutions to issues, he's offering fears," the US President said about the Republican Presidential nominee. And when the convention attendees booed Trump, Obama said "Don't boo, vote!"
Obama walked on to the stage to cheers of "Yes, we can", his campaign slogan in 2008 when he first ran for the post of US President.
Referring to the extremely divisive campaign, and possibly to Trump's alleged incoherence and incompetence, Obama said "people outside the US do not understand what's going on" in this election.
"Trump is not really a plans guys, not really a facts guy... our (America's) greatness does not depend on Donald Trump," the US President said.
"She keeps her cool and treats everyone with respect no matter how much people knock her down, she never quits," Obama said. "There is only one candidate in this race who believes in America's future and that's Hillary Clinton," Obama added, to deafening cheers.
As he ended his speech, US Democratic Presidential candidate joined Obama on stage. Tweets from the media present at the convention said that Hillary's husband, Bill Clinton had tears rolling down his face.
"Thank you for this beautiful journey," Obama said in conclusion.
