Guwahati, 25 July, 2016 :
The Government of Assam has decided to observe the first
death anniversary of former President of India and Bharat Ratna Awardee Dr.
APJ Abdul Kalam, on July 27, 2016 in a befitting manner.
In this regard all Commissioners of Divisions, Deputy Commissioners &
SDO (C) will draw up elaborate programmes to commemorate the Day by
selecting suitable venues like District Libraries and Community Halls to conduct
public meeting involving senior citizens, students, civil society, socio-cultural
organisations and people from all sections of the society to pay tributes and
perpetuate the hallowed memory of Dr. Kalam.
It has also been stressed on observing the Death Anniversary of Dr.
Kalam by touching on subjects close to his heart such as National Security,
Nation Building, Vision 2020, and his immeasurable contribution in inspiring
the new generation.
